Andes Range Sauvignon Blanc, Central Valley Chile (suggested retail $9.99) From selected vineyard sites across Chile's Central Valley. The cooling influences of the Andes and the Humboldt current together with the diurnal temperature difference here allows for slow ripening so that the grapes develop maximum flavor. This lively little Sauvignon is bursting with vibrant zesty citrus fruit and a hint of exotic guava. Hugely refreshing, this crisp and aromatic wine is endlessly quaffable.
Woodwork Central Coast Chardonnay, California (suggested retail $14.99) This central coast chardonnay exhibits the striking balance of rich tropical fruit and fragrant oak. The nose opens with lovely pineapple, caramel and vanilla aromas. In the mouth, ripe apple and pear flavors develop, accompanied by shortbread and baking spices. The harmonious integration of fruit and spice unfolds with round, creamy texture and generous weight on the palate.
Los Cardos Malbec, Mendoza Argentina (suggested retail $9.99) Los Cardos Malbec from Dona Paula is a fresh, fruit-forward expression of Argentine Malbec. It shows big aromas of berry fruit and roasted nuts. The palate is firm but zesty with with bright berry, black tea and mineral flavors. A hint of toast comes up on the lingering finish. This wine received a Silver Medal in the Critics Challenge Wine Competition. Previous vintages have garnered 90+ scores, it's always a tremendous value!
Palacios Reales Cabernet Sauvignon, La Macha Spain (suggested retail $9.99) Bodegas Verduguez is located in the heart of La Mancha. The winery is a small 4th generation family business, mainly devoted to the production, ageing and bottling upper quality single varietal wines. The actual wine cellar was set up the same year it was built, in 1950. This now state of the art winery still thrives with the spirit and essence of old, where the content is more important than the packaging. This wine is a dazzling scarlet hue with a grenadine backdrop. It exhibits fruit of the forest aromas, coupled with aromatic jammy fruit. On the palate, it is juicy, meaty and velvety with a lively finish due to its ripe fruit.
Maison des Bulliats Vielles Vignes Grand Cru du Beaujolais, Regnie France (suggested retail $16.99) This Grand Cru Village Beaujolais from a small family run vineyard producing Régnié, a delightfully light, fruity and well-structured red wine made with the Gamay grape variety. Régnié is one of the prestigious Beaujolais Crus. The original vines of the region were planted by the Roman governor Reginus from which the cru and local village derive their names. Their vines thrive in a natural environment with minimal human intervention. The fruit is harvested and sorted by hand and vinified using traditional methods. This isn't like its light, fresh and fruity sibling Beaujolais Nouveau.
Chateau Grand Abord Graves Rouge, France (suggested retail $17.99) The Château Grand Abord is situated in Portets, in the Graves region near to Bordeaux, where was born the first vineyards of Bordeaux. The origin of Grand Abord’s vineyard goes back to 1720. It always belongs to the same family. Bright medium dark garnet color. Bright, fruity, toasty aromas and flavors of ripe mulberries, plum pits, creme de cassis, and planked cedar with a lightly tannic, lively, dry full body and a smooth, complex, medium-length finish with silky, fine, well-integrated tannins and moderate oak.
