Our 108 Wooden Crate

Back by popular demand, we welcome the new vintage of one of our all-time most popular wooden crate wines from Bordeaux, and it is a good as ever. The Great Depression forced many small wineries in France to restructure and work together to survive. In 1936, fifteen winemakers created the Monsegur Cooperative and had their first harvest. Today they have grown to include over 170 winemaker members, including Calhou Belair. This wine offers ripe dark fruits both in the nose and on the palette with a jammy touch, layers of cherries and leather, and grainy tannins. This is classic Bordeaux, consisting of 55% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. It is the perfect pairing for all kinds of summer fare, including cold cuts and grilled meats.
